So here are a few questions to ask yourself when trying to market your podcast.Ā

Donā€™t be afraid to write down some of your answers so that you can remember them after you have finished brainstorming. šŸ§ Ā

Why do I need to market my podcast?

The main reason why you need to market your podcast is to grow your number of listeners. šŸ“ˆĀ

Because whatā€™s a podcast without an audienceā€¦

One of the biggest mistakes that some podcasters make is creating an amazing podcast, distributing it, but then they donā€™t market it wellā€¦ lucky for you weā€™re here to help! šŸ‘

By knowing how to market your podcast correctly, you can gain a large number of new listeners.Ā

This can lead you to the opportunity to monetize your podcast. šŸ’øĀ  By catching the attention of those that will want to advertise within your podcast.Ā

Over time, with the right marketing, your brand will expand and there will be new opportunities that you can take advantage of.Ā

For example, there are some podcasts that lead to Youtube channels, book deals, and even extensive merchandise. šŸ‘•Ā

Who says this couldnā€™t be you?Ā

By marketing to expand your brand, you are marketing your podcast even more. So you see, marketing leads to more marketing which leads to more marketingā€¦ well you get it.

Basically the bottom line is, you need to market your podcast to make sure that people hear it after you put your heart and soul into creating it.Ā

Recording your podcast

How should I market my podcast? šŸ¤”

So the first thing that you need to do is determine your listener persona.Ā

This will help you know where to focus your marketing.Ā

Your listener persona is who your ideal listener is. Itā€™s important to define your listener persona early on so you know where and how to market your podcast.Ā

For example, which social media platforms does your listener persona prefer? (You might want to up your marketing game on those platforms)Ā

Not everyone will be interested in the topic of your podcast, and thatā€™s okayā€¦ but figure out who will be so you can make sure they will find your show! šŸ”ŽĀ

After you have figured out your listener persona you want to market your podcast to them on as many channels as possible.Ā

Defining your listener persona

Like I mentioned before, you will want to focus on the channels that your audience uses more, BUT you also want to use other channels to try and grow your audience beyond your current one.Ā

By increasing your number of channels that you use to market your podcast, you are increasing your number of listeners. ā¬†ļøĀ

Where should I market my podcast? šŸ“

There are a few key places to market your podcast.Ā

Social media

For example, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedInā€¦ basically any social media will do the trick!Ā

Social media has so much to offer when it comes to marketing so make sure you take advantage of it!

Podcast landing page

Another place is your podcast landing page (your website). šŸ’»Ā

Maybe youā€™re thinking, well if theyā€™re on my landing page, they already know about my podcast, right?

And while this could be true, maybe they havenā€™t listened to your podcast yet and want to read about you first to see if itā€™s something they would like or relate to.

You see: itā€™s important to know How to Create a Podcast Landing Page

Newsletter

And a final place to market your podcast is in your newsletter. šŸ“°Ā

And yes, if they are subscribed to your newsletter they have already discovered your podcast.Ā

However, your newsletter is the place where you can market new content that you want to share with your audience.Ā

For example, if you just started a Youtube channel, this is where you can tell them all about it, to try and increase the number of views of your new video content. šŸŽ„Ā

How to market your podcast with Aushaā€™s features

How can Ausha help me market my podcast? šŸ’œ

Well there are many answers to this question, because Ausha has so many features that can help you market your podcast! šŸ˜ƒĀ

So letā€™s jump right into it!Ā

First, and maybe most importantly, we have the Social Media Manager

This is the place where you can link your podcastā€™s social media accounts.

When you do this, it allows you to schedule posts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.Ā

This will save you a lot of time, instead of having to plan and post everyday. šŸ•’Ā

It also just happens that social media platforms are some of the most popular places to discover a new podcast, making it the perfect place to market your podcast.Ā

Next is the video clips page. šŸŽžļø

Here you can generate full-length video clips of your podcast that you can share on Youtube.Ā

Or you can opt for shorter clips that you can post on your social media to use as teasers to market your next podcast episode.Ā

For example, as an Instagram reel or story, or even as a TikTok.Ā

Ausha lets you take your podcast audio file, and turn it into a video file with a generated transcription and waveforms. šŸŒŠĀ

And since your social media and video clips are both on the Ausha platform, posting (and therefore marketing) has never been easier!Ā

Generating video clips on Ausha

Third we have the SmartPlayer, something that is super handy!

This allows you to embed your podcast episode into another site. For example, your podcast landing page! Or a blog post about your most recent episode.Ā

This way people can listen to your podcast wherever your SmartPlayer is locatedā€¦ What a smart marketing move. šŸ˜‰Ā Ā

The next tool that Ausha offers is the ability to create a podcast landing page (website).

You can do it straight from our platformā€¦ in fact itā€™s generated automatically for you, as soon as you check the box saying you want it to be created. āœ…Ā

The website will have all your episodes, and a place for people to subscribe to your podcast.Ā

This is great for marketing because you can post the link to your website in many places (like your social media) to try and market your podcast to more people.

With Ausha you also have the ability to embed your Twitter feed directly so that visitors to your site can stay up to date!Ā šŸ—“ļø

Having an up-to-date and informative website is a must when you go to market your podcast.Ā

Next on the Ausha platform is the Smartlink. šŸ”—

This link lets people go to a page where they can choose on which listening platforms they want to hear your podcast.Ā

This helps market your podcast because when they are on the Smartlink page they will see all the various platforms that you are broadcast on and be even more interested to listen to you. šŸ˜ŠĀ

And now the statistics page! šŸ“Š

Because no marketing strategy is complete without checking to see if your efforts worked to increase your number of listeners.Ā

So, in the Statistics tab of your Ausha account, check out your numbers of listens, where most people are listening to your podcast, and who your audience is. (Something else that can help you adjust your listener persona if needed)Ā

Understanding and Analyzing the Statistics of Your Podcast is very important so be sure to check them often!

So to sum it all up:

Knowing how to market your podcast is one of the most important things to remember when creating a podcastā€¦Ā

You cannot simply release an episode and hope for the best. šŸ¤žĀ

So jump on social media and market your podcast like crazy to grow your audience.Ā

When you know how to market your podcast correctly, the results will show it! šŸ¤©Ā
